A nod to the past with an eye into the future, has been the forefront of my design process. I believe it is only through this close and respectful collaboration, and nurturing long term relationships with artisans that a five hundred year old handmade art form like Kantha and Indigenous stitches of West Bengal, India, can be culturally preserved, celebrated and made to thrive in today’s global economy.

Imagine a place where cultures from all corners of the globe are celebrated; where folk artists, often marginalized in their communities, are elevated. Where the humanity of the handmade isn’t just discussed but is right in front of you…

I hope that this website becomes a space where I will share my design process, my interactions with artisans, and the beautiful products we create, especially Kantha and Indigenous stitches. A space to celebrate traditional crafts and promote fair trade practices.
